Tether Prioritizes Non-US Markets Amid Unclear Stablecoin Regulations
Tether, the issuer of the USDT stablecoin, is maintaining its primary focus outside the United States despite ongoing legislative progress on stablecoin regulation. CEO Paolo Ardoino emphasized the company’s commitment to foreign markets, citing unclear regulatory distinctions in the proposed Genius Act.
The Genius Act, a Senate bill with crypto industry backing, recently advanced in Congress. Ardoino noted Tether’s intention to remain compliant while continuing its strong international presence. "We are looking at the Genius Act in a way that will allow us to be compliant," he stated, underscoring the company’s strategic positioning.
